PH logs 7 active Delta cases

MANILA, Philippines — There are still seven active COVID-19 Delta variant cases of the 35 cases that were detected in the country, the Health Department told AdChoiceTV News on Tuesday.

“For these 35 total cases in the country, we have three who died. We have seven whom we discovered that are still active for now,” Health Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire told The Source.

She said of these seven, one was detected in Ermita, Manila; Cagayan de Oro, and Misamis Oriental. She added that the patients are undergoing isolation and have not interacted with the community.

Vergeire clarified, however, that seven cases cannot be considered a local transmission just yet.

“These local cases that we have right now are kind of sporadic where they are in different areas and different timelines for getting infected,” she said.
