AdChoiceTV News — Shopee riders are not feeling happy this holiday season because the online shopping platform has reportedly not been giving their salaries and financial incentives on time.

A now-viral video from Facebook user Estrang Vench Alvarez showed a throng of motorcycle riders crowding the office of a manpower agency in Taguig on December 30 to demand their salaries and 13th month pay for serving as the Shopee’s courier service.
A separate social media post claimed that the manpower agency, Placer 8, withheld the riders’ salaries for most of December.
“Sobrang pahirap sa mga rider ng Shopee,” Alvarez wrote. “Si Shopee galante sa iba pero sa mismong empleyado, ipit na ipit ang pondo.”
Netizens quickly got angry and were tagging TV host Raffy Tulfo to step in and resolve the issue. Others pointed out how Shopee appears to have millions of pesos to pay for endorsers like Kris Aquino but none for other employees. — via Letizia Tinoco / AdChoiceTV News
